Tune in Thanksgiving Week to See Our Animal Ambassadors...Not Once, But Three Times!

by Staff

SeaWorld and Busch Gardens animal ambassadors are kicking off the holiday season with three exciting national appearances next week!

First, don’t miss Julie Scardina and SeaWorld and Busch Gardens animal ambassadors on the Dr. Oz Show this Monday, November 21.

Groundhog from Busch Gardens

Julie recently visited the Dr. Oz studios at 30 Rock in New York with animals that are helping the medical profession and researchers in unique ways. Did you know that owls have such super hearing that a study on how they process sound is being used to treat patients that are non-responsive after a trauma? Julie also brought giant tarantulas and discussed their powerful venom. Stingrays from SeaWorld Orlando provided an interesting discussion on human healing; the slimy layer found on stingrays allows them to heal quickly, even from deep wounds. Finally, a cute and plump ground hog gave the audience an interesting perspective on hibernation studies.

Be sure to check out www.DoctorOz.com for a peak behind the scenes at the studio. Cupid, the barn owl from Busch Gardens Williamsburg, almost stole the show!

The Dr. Oz Show is nationally syndicated. Check your local listings for times and stations.

Julie Scardina on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno

Then on Tuesday, November 22, Julie and more SeaWorld and Busch Gardens animal ambassadors can be seen on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Julie will introduce Jay to a Bengal tiger cub, a slow loris, Magellanic penguins from SeaWorld San Diego and a pair of rescued turkeys. Make sure you tune in to see Julie and the animals for what is sure to be an entertaining and educational segment. The Tonight Show with Jay Leno airs on NBC; check your local listings for air times.

Gobble, gobble! Tune in on Thursday, November 24, to see SeaWorld & Busch Gardens animal ambassador, Pedro Ramos-Navarrete, on Despierta América for the third national appearance next week.
