Today, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is joining businesses and communities across the nation for America Recycles Day.
Our daily recycling efforts are an integral part of our commitment to conserve the world we share. This year our parks recycled more than 6 million pounds of cans, bottles, cardboard, scrap metal, office paper, shrink wrap, and plastic. These efforts to reduce waste improve the environment and help foster a more sustainable planet.
In observance of America Recycles Day, we encourage you to do your part today – and throughout the year – and recycle as much as possible at home, in public, and at work. Here are some practical ways you can help.
• Whether at work, home or play, choose to reuse by selecting sturdy products. For example, washable utensils, tableware, cloth napkins and dishcloths can be used many times.
• Use your purchase power and buy products made from recycled materials.
• Go green around the office and keep plenty of scrap paper handy. Use the back side of old documents for low priority prints like driving directions or meeting times.
• Make your office or home printer eco-friendly. Change your printer settings to make double-sided pages. Use small point-sizes when possible.
America Recycles Day was started in 1997 by Keep America Beautiful, the nation's largest volunteer-based community action and education organization dedicated to preventing litter, reducing waste and beautifying communities.
