Penguins Take On New York!

by Staff

The SeaWorld & Busch Gardens animal ambassadors had two busy days in New York City last week with two national TV appearances.

Penguins took over Studio 1A at the TODAY Show as SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Ambassador Julie Scardina talked with Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie and the gang about just a few of SeaWorld’s amazing rescue efforts over the past 40 years.

Julie introduced Caribbean flamingo chicks from Busch Gardens Tampa and SeaWorld Orlando. Animals always seem to love Matt, who looked like a pro feeding them their special diet. Al Roker tried too, but his chick just wasn’t hungry! Ginger, a pelican from a partner rescue organization gave the hosts a nice breeze when she appeared. She can’t fly since one of her wings was permanently damaged by fishing line, but she still loves to flap her wings. Check out the entire segment here.

Then on Friday, Magellanic penguins and a flamingo chick headed over to Fox & Friends with SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Ambassador Jennifer Miller. Even celebrities get star struck sometimes, like actor and comedian John Leguizamo when he met SeaWorld’s super stars Pete and Penny outside the Fox News Channel studios.
