Julie Scardina to Discuss Issues Endangered Animals Face on the TODAY Show

by Staff

Rescued tiger cub from Busch Gardens Make sure you tune into the TODAY Show on Tuesday, October 11. SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Animal Ambassador, Julie Scardina, will appear in two segments: in the 8 am hour, she’ll introduce Matt Lauer and Ann Curry to a rescued tiger cub and a black and white lemur. Julie will talk about the many issues these endangered animals face from habitat loss to illegal wildlife trade to poaching. She’ll tell them how the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund supports efforts to save these animals and what viewers at home can do to help. Matt and Ann will also meet a Bald eagle from SeaWorld Orlando as an example of how an animal can be brought back from the brink of extinction when everyone works together.

Sand Hill crane

Then, in the fourth hour of TODAY, Kathie Lee and Hoda will meet a groundhog, a red fox, a beaver and a sandhill crane. Julie will explain how some animals prepare for winter in the wild, including the crane’s annual migration south. These are just some of the amazing animals that guests can see and interact with at our parks, as they learn about them first hand.
