TAMPA - A pair of western lowland gorillas – a mother and daughter – were introduced to the public today at their new home at Busch Gardens.

Mary, 22, and Pele, 8, can be viewed at the Myombe Reserve habitat. They join four gorillas already there: Kishina, Inaki, Sim Sim and Bolingo.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg has ventured into the vast cyber world known as Twitter. The park is using the social networking tool to offer guests discounts and special event passes.

The brand's twitter account officially launched on March 1, and park officials have offered a variety of discounts including a giveaway of two platinum passes and two round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines.

SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - SeaWorld Orlando’s Animal Rescue Team rescues a young female manatee on Tuesday from a canal near Satellite Beach. This was the park’s 11th cold-stress manatee rescue this year – an unusually high number due to Florida’s unseasonably cold and extended winter.

TAMPA - Busch Gardens has to pull more than 1,000 blue tilapia out of a lake that needs cleaning.

Meanwhile, less than an hour north of the theme park, a nonprofit group dedicated to alleviating world hunger through sustainable fish farming is struggling to replenish about 2,000 blue tilapia killed by winter freezes.

Sea World Tragedy Shows Both The Risk in Understanding Animals and The Nobility in a Life Spent Pursuing a Deeper Relationship

It was with shock and sadness last week that I read the news of the death of Dawn Brancheau, the trainer at Sea World who died during the Shamu show. Suddenly she was gone from all the lives she had left her mark upon, mine being one of them. I had taken my family to Sea World and seen the exact show to which she devoted her life.

Staff members from Busch Gardens and campers from their summer camp program will assist Tampa Bay Watch with the planting of 10,600 plugs of salt marsh at Terra Ceia Ecosystem Restoration Project on the morning of Saturday, March 6th. The Busch Gardens summer campers planted and grew 600 of the salt marsh plugs on Busch Gardens’ property.

NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. --

State wildlife officials have released three manatees back into the water.

A pregnant manatee was released Tuesday morning, along with another female manatee and her calf.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the mother and calf were rescued in January from an Indian River County canal. They were taken to SeaWorld in Orlando and treated for cold stress.

It's adios to "Viva!" and bienvenido to "Azul: Lure of the Sea" this season at SeaWorld San Antonio. The new show doesn't officially premiere until March 12, but the audience will get sneak peeks of it when the park reopens Saturday.

Huey Lewis and The News rocked Busch Gardens on Sunday, performing their repertoire of hit songs to a crowd of several thousand fans and park visitors. Bringing the crowd to its feet, Huey Lewis hit the sunlit stage with a support band of eight musicians, including a full horn section.
