We’re left to wonder how many animals in need could’ve been helped with the thousands of dollars spent on PETA’s latest exercise in theatrics. This publicity stunt proved once again that PETA is an extremist organization far more interested in photo opportunities than helping animals. It served no purpose other than to again compound the sadness and grief being experienced by those SeaWorld employees closest to Dawn Brancheau.
It should also be noted that while PETA was flying around our park today, SeaWorld animal care specialists and veterinarians were rescuing a manatee in the Desoto Canal near Satellite Beach, Florida. Right now our animal care teams are treating more than 50 rescued wild animals, including representatives of three endangered or threatened species, and preparing those animals for return to the wild. In just the past nine weeks SeaWorld parks have rescued and treated nearly 1,000 animals and most have already been returned to the ocean.
SeaWorld rejects every charge made by PETA. Our parks will continue to do what they have always done: bring marine animals to our guests in ways that are enriching, inspiring, educational and entertaining.

I totally agree with you, your parks do so much in helping th marine community which is in need and PETA only whines and complains yet they spend thousands of dollars which should be used for something like animal care, not useless things.I wil always stand by seaworld as it is my most favorite please in the entire world.

I completely agree with the statement by Sea World. I am a vegetarian and am against animal testing and cruelty. I once wanted to join PETA, but learned long ago that they are too extremist for my views and truly are just about making a name for themselves.

Well put! Keep doing what you do best SeaWorld. Your unforgettable animal experiences and conservation efforts are greatly appreciated and world-class. The industry is lucky to have such an incredible leader and I hope everyone else is just as inspired by your tireless efforts (including PETA - who could really take some notes).

I don't like PETA at all since all they do is complain when they don't actually save the animals like SeaWorld! PETA should stop harassing SeaWorld and let the family, friends, and co-workers of Dawn have the privacy that they need. I know if one of the people of PETA lost one of their family members they would want the same! Keep up the good work that you do and know that you have people behind you one hundred percent! I support everything that SeaWorld is and what they do, I am also a huge fan of you since I have visited your parks a lot. My respects go out to the family of Dawn, I will always think about them in this difficult time. Thanks again SeaWorld for all that you do, Keep up the good work and don't let PETA get in your way! I <3 SeaWorld!

All our family members carry Seaworld Passports. We love Seaworld. And we visit as often as we want because we live nearby. A pox upon Peta. What could they have done for conservation with the thousands of dollars they spent on their photo opp? Idiots.
OK... I'm trying to be calm here. Shame on Peta~ I'll stop now.

Well said! We all know who really cares about the animals. PETA needs to give it up, they're such a joke. Keep being awesome, Sea World. :)

If you ask me, they are trying to get Sea World to get rid of their animals so they can die in the wild. They do get special health vitamins so they can stay healthy. I'm not letting them take my chance to worlk with the orcas at sea world! Esspecially Ulises and Corky im paticular. LEAVE CORKY ALONE PETA! SO THERE! And the rest of Sea World too!

My husband & I went to the San Antonio Sea World for our honeymoon. I had not been there since I was 12, & he had never been. There is no doubt in my mind that Sea World and all of its employees love those animals. I used to think PETA was like the ASPCA, devoted completely to taking care of animals who needed our love and care. Then I did more research into PETA. I'm convinced they want their 15 minuted of fame & nothing else. I agree that animals are GODS creatures and we need to care for them if we're going to keep our planet healthy, but they are not going about the right way. They are making animal activists look like a bunch of nuts. You do not abuse your animals. You treat them like extensions of your family. I cannot believe that PETA went so low as to call Jack Hanna, who has done so much for the animal kingdom, an animal pimp. You have all my love and support. Rest assured that our 4 year old son will be enjoying your San Antonio park soon. Please don't stop what your doing for our animal family.

I love animals, but I despise PETA. They have become an organization that is only interested in generating publicity for themselves...not in helping animals.

Awesome. Great statement and 100% agree. Sea World makes a positive difference with their actions while PETA just makes noise.

When we arrived last Sat we saw the plane flying around trying to read what it said I got a laugh when I was able to read it. I love SeaWorld and they do nothing to hurt these animals. The animals recieve much love and care. GO focus on the circus where there are Elephants being treated cruely, they are the ones that need your help. Not the Orcas

you ask "how many animals in need could... See More’ve been helped with the thousands of dollars spent on PETA’s latest exercise in theatrics". Well, why dont you ask yourself the same question. How bout instead of spending millions of dollars on advertising the explotation of your animals you put it to use in helping more animals, like the ones you are exploiting. And just because you rescue some animals doesnt give you the right to exploit others and call it education. All the major advancements the scientific community has learned about orcas dolphins have come about by studying them in the wild, not in captivity.

PETA is a complete an utter waste of money. They brainwash their followers into believing their money is going to be spent on saving animals, but they spend their donation money on stuff like THIS.
Thank you for all your do SeaWorld, you are a hero in the animal community.

I used to work for SeaWorld and while I was there I not only learned a lot about the animals, but I got to see how much the employees LOVE the animals. The animals at SeaWorld could not be taken care of any better. The employees treat these animals as if they were family. SeaWorld is doing their part in protecting endangered species and they are doing a great job of it. What PETA needs to understand is that not all rescued animals or animals bred at SeaWorld can be released back into the wild. This is for the animal's own safety, not for the entertainment of guests in the park. PETA really does need to spend their money on helping animals, not attempting to point out flaws in companies that they honestly know nothing about. I am on SeaWorld's side 100%. They are a fantastic company and they definitely do more than anyone else to protect animals and the environment.

We all support you. keep up the excellent work, you inspire people. I also think it's VERY interesting that out of all the animal lovers I know, who actually know much about Peta, don't support them - says something, doesn't it? (for example using lies to persuade people)
Keep sticking up for yourselves, and eventually people will learn the truth. We all love seaworld!

Peta lost their way a long time ago. It's merely a hallow shell of what it could have been existing only on the hope that somwhere down the road the next theatrical performance may gain them a favorable opinion by the general public. Thus far all they have done is proved time and again that they have no interest in the sensible management of wildlife or their long term well being.
I admire Sea World and all the parks who have over their lifetime gone above and beyond, reached outside their boundaries to assist wildlife across the world. Keep it up!

Rescuing manatees and educating the public is a wonderful service, and I'm glad that Sea World does it. But we surely all know by now that orcas should not be kept in captivity. Those that cannot be released into the wild should be retired from performing circus stunts.

Sea World offers many educational and informative opportunities that most of us would never have, if it were not for the commitment and dedication of Sea World, and its Trainers, and other employees. It is the education, information, and up-close interaction with Sea Life, that helps build a bond of appreciation and respect for Aquatic Life, that most of us would miss out on, if Sea World was not here, to share all the wonder and discovery with the rest of us. Thank-you, Sea World!

I couldn't agree more with this world class statement. SeaWorld does more for animals then Peta could ever hope to do. The Peta group is worthless to the animal kingdom, all they do is try to bash people to get more known in this world as rude, senseless people with NO heart. They can't leave anything alone or be more respectful protestors! I will never join Peta, i am all for animal rights but i think SeaWorld does a better job for animal rights then does Peta!
My prayers still go out to all who knew and loved Dawn. Also i pray for all animal trainers around the world who educate the public with trained animals.

good for you, seaworld! hold your head high! everyone knows peta is more concerned about making a statement than actually doing anything about what they're stating. it's possible to care about animals and have a good head on your shoulders, too bad they've ruined that image completely. good thing we have you guys to try and bring the good image back! best of luck to seaworld and of course, condolences to dawn's family.

GO SEA WORLD! We love ya. Keep up the good work. As for PeTA - if they actually put their money where their mouth was they would be making a favorable difference in this world. All they do is focus on celebrity endorsements and extremists behavior!
