SeaWorld Orlando announces the largest attraction expansion in its history – and news of not one, not two, but three exciting new attractions coming to SeaWorld Orlando and Discovery Cove over the next two years.
The United States Travel Association’s (USTA) Discover America Daily Getaways promotion is back by popular demand for a second year. The promotion runs April 11 through May 13, 2011 allowing travelers to save up to 60 percent on airfare, hotels, car rentals, theme park admission and city attraction passes. Recently, nearly 50 players and winners from Survivor, The Amazing Race and American Idol spent the day at Discovery Cove. The stars were in Orlando to benefit Give Kids the World, a wish-fulfilling organization supported by SeaWorld and its parks.
Did you know that even our feathered family members contribute to conservation? The feathers some of our birds naturally shed, or molt, are donated each month to the Feather Distribution Project. This worthwhile organization redistributes donated plumes to Native American tribes in an effort to prevent the illegal smuggling and plucking of endangered birds.
Of course, the highlight of a day at Discovery Cove is an up-close experience with an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin. However, there's so much more to explore -- hand-feeding tropical birds, meeting exotic small mammals, and snorkeling among thousands of fish, rays and sharks.

Spring is in the air. Flowers are blooming, the grass is turning green and Discovery Cove is welcoming a new baby dolphin to the family. Thelma, an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin at the park, gave birth to a baby dolphin Tuesday, April 20. This is the 22nd dolphin born at Discovery Cove since the park opened in 2000.
