Mike Boos has been named vice president of zoological operations at Busch Gardens, the top zoological position at the Tampa park. Boos, 43, replaces Glenn Young, who retired at the end of June.

Thanks to modern technology, SeaWorld Orlando employees and animals were able to fulfill a final wish from a 48-year-old woman with an inoperable brain tumor to meet a dolphin.

Manta recently celebrated its one year new birthday. We sat down with Brian Morrow, Corporate Director of Creative Development and Manta designer for a Q & A session.

Last Friday, SeaWorld Orlando employees took part in a unique conservation-related project to help restore dead oyster reefs in the Indian River Lagoon in Central Florida.

Volunteers helped make oyster shell mats that will eventually be distributed into the Mosquito Lagoon.

It is with great sadness that I report that one of our most experienced animal trainers drowned in an incident with one of our killer whales this afternoon, February 24, 2010 at our SeaWorld Orlando park.

We have initiated an investigation to determine, to the extent possible, what occurred. There are no other details to share at this point, but we will make our findings known in due course.
